ND Tax Dept. releases forms to reflect tax cuts
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ The North Dakota Tax Department has released new forms and tables to reflect reduced income tax rates passed this year by the Legislature.
Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says the information is aimed at employers for payroll operations.
Fong says the Legislature approved $200 million in income tax relief, which represents an across-the-board tax rate cut of 19.3 percent.
North Dakota's individual income tax has five brackets, which ranged from 1.5 percent to 3.9 percent of taxable income. The Legislature reduced the rates in each bracket this, establishing a new range that begins at 1.2 percent and ends at 3.2 percent.
Fong says the latest income tax rates represent a 42 percent reduction since 2009.
